Ian Butcher Golf

Ian Butcher is a Level 3 PGA Certified Coach based at King’s Acre Golf Course near Edinburgh, Scotland.

Throughout his professional career my passion has been to develop and extend my knowledge of the golf swing and how it is that golfers learn and improve their game on an individual basis.

As well as talking to top coaches and golfers (of all abilities) Ian Butcher regularly attends golf education seminars including the European Teaching Conference. He also visits other notable golf centres including, most recently, the Butch Harmon Golf School in Las Vegas.

Lonsdale and Dutch

Lonsdale and Dutch

Lonsdale and Dutch exports lanterns all over Europe and to the USA. Many Scottish stately homes, owners of town houses and architects also turn to Lonsdale and Dutch to provide high quality lighting for both interiors and exteriors of historic buildings and modern properties.

Proprietor Rodney French’s work features at Hopetoun House and Falkland Palace and he was recently commissioned to make replicas of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s work for Hill House in Helensburgh.

Customers come to the workshop in Edinburgh’s New Town because they want something individual; they often ask for a particular colour, glass type or metal and Rodney will design and create it to the agreed specification. He also restores antique lanterns, chandeliers and metalwork.

The Bears Golfing Society

The Bears Golfing Society

Since 1980, the Bears have been playing golf round the fairways of Scotland. From humble beginnings in 1980, the Bears have grown into a national institution (in their eyes) and have outlasted many kings, dynasties and bankers.

The Bears’ roll of honour reads like a who’s who of golfing greats (in that it is in English) and you can savour some of the tension and camaraderie by reading the history on this website and, firstly, by browsing the roll of honour. So enjoy the experience and please click on the links above to find out about this national institution.

Lloyd Saltman

Lloyd Saltman had a successful career as an amateur golfer, with wins in several prestigious tournaments including the 2003 Scottish Boys’ Championship, 2005 Brabazon Trophy, 2005 St Andrews Links Trophy, 2007 Irish Amateur Championship, 2007 Lytham Trophy, and the 2007 Scottish Champion of Champions. In 2005 he finished 15th in The Open Championship at St Andrews, to win the Silver Medal as the low amateur.

At the end of 2008, Saltman returned to the European Tour’s qualifying school, and although he reached the final stage after coming through a seven man playoff,[6] he missed out on winning a European Tour card meaning he would have another season on the Challenge Tour in 2009.

In July 2009 lloyd Saltman and his brother Elliot both qualified for the Open Championship at Turnberry, to become the first brothers to appear together in The Open since Seve and Manuel Ballesteros played at Birkdale in 1983.
